Close the Gap

People in a gym

Despite efforts to ‘close the gap’, there continues to be many health disparities between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people.  We are committed to creating health equity for all people living in our community. We work to maintain strong partnerships with Aboriginal communities and work together to develop or adapt programs to meet real needs.

We take the time to listen and to learn about what may work to ‘close the gap’ with the goal to achieve the highest level of health for individuals, families and communities as a whole.

We see a future where physical, social, emotional and cultural wellbeing is considered essential to holistic health of individuals and the whole of community.

The NSW Aboriginal Health Plan works to close the gap in health outcomes for Aboriginal people.
