Your Mid North Coast
The Mid North Coast Local Health District (MNCLHD) extends from Port Macquarie in the south to Coffs Harbour in the north, along the picturesque and popular coastal strip of NSW. Serving a population of more than 218,180 residents with a workforce of 4,300 across seven hospital sites and twelve community health centres.
The Mid North Coast difference is having the best of coastal and inland living and a climate described as one of the best in the Southern Hemisphere where adventure and lifestyle are at our doorstep. With the Great Dividing Range to the west, we offer the best of both worlds with our region boasting some of the best sun drenched stretches of beach anywhere in Australia.
The region is alive with large river systems which bring the crystal-clear waters of the mountains all the way to the sea offering an array of water sports, game fishing or estuary fishing. Our magnificent ancient rainforests and mountain ranges provide for a wide range of bushwalking, camping and mountain biking opportunities.
Your family will love living here too, with access to high-performing public and private schools and higher education facilities. They’ll benefit from our strong relationships with universities such as Charles Sturt University in Port Macquarie and Southern Cross University in Coffs Harbour specialising in nursing and midwifery, and allied health.
We’re different because our region has dedicated University of NSW campuses which co-exist with our base hospitals at Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie providing full medical studies from year one to year six.
We embrace different, having many multicultural communities existing within our geographical footprint. Rich in culture and diversity, you’ll have the opportunity to be involved with various cultural communities and learn from your neighbours about their way of life.
As a health professional, you’ll be working within a culturally diverse team, providing the unique health care that these cultural communities require.
