Genetic Counselling Service

Diagnosis, management, counselling and support of adults and children with a wide range of genetic disorders.

We don’t accept referrals for paternity testing, reproductive carrier screening with no family history, generalised hypermobility or cancer conditions (refer to Cancer Genetics Clinic).

All appointments are bulk billed and there is no cost for genetic testing for people who meet testing criteria.

A referral letter from a GP or specialist is required for all patients. It should state the reason for referral, patient’s medical history, any relevant family history, and include any relevant investigation reports.

Please see Genomics in Clinical Practice for further information about referral guidelines.
