Pathology

NSW Health Pathology have two departments in Coffs Harbour and Kempsey these laboratories provide routine and specialist pathology testing to support specialists and doctors throughout the hospital and community.

Hours

Laboratory 24 hours per day.
Collections 8.30am to 5.00pm

Provides Pathology service to Coffs Harbour Health Campus, Macksville Health Campus, Bellingen Hospital and Dorrigo Multi-purpose center as well as privately referred outpatients. Service provision include on-site inpatient and outpatient collection services.

Off-site collection service at 1/40 Little St, Coffs Harbour. Home collection service from Woolgoolga to Nambucca Heads.  A range of tests include Anatomical Pathology with onsite Staff Specialist Anatomical Pathologist,  Haematology with onsite Staff Specialist Haematologists, Biochemistry, Blood Bank and Microbiology. The laboratory provides a 24 hour service. Specialised testing is referred to Pathology North John hunter Hospital.

A referral is required.

Laboratory hours 8.00am to 6.00pm, 7 days, on-call service provided after hours

Provides Pathology service to Kempsey Health Campus, Wauchope Health Campus.  Multi-purpose centre as well as privately referred outpatients. Service provision includes on-site inpatient and outpatient collection services.  Home collection service available.  On site testing includes biochemistry, haematology, transfusion services, and urgent microbiology.  Full microbiology testing is referred to PN Coffs Harbour; more specialised testing is referred to PN John Hunter Hospital.  Specialist Pathologist services and consultation is available from PN laboratories at Coffs Harbour, John Hunter and Royal North Shore hospitals.
