Mid North Coast Local Health District’s new Chief Executive
Apr 02, 2025Jill Wong has been appointed to the position of Chief Executive of Mid North Coast Local Health District (MNCLHD), effective 1 April 2025.
An accomplished healthcare leader with more than 17 years’ experience across legal, social work, and executive health leadership roles, Ms Wong brings a unique multidisciplinary perspective to health service delivery.
Her tenure as MNCLHD Director of Integrated Care, Allied Health and Community Services for the past four years saw her lead key reforms, including strengthening partnerships with primary care and Aboriginal Medical Services, enhancing virtual care models and implementing accountability frameworks to drive service improvement.
As a qualified lawyer with a Bachelor of Social Work, she is deeply committed to social justice, equity, continuous learning and fostering a positive workplace culture.
MNCLHD Governing Board Chair Peter Treseder AO welcomed Ms Wong to the role after acting as the Interim Chief Executive since November 2024.
“Ms Wong’s leadership has been instrumental in District financial recovery efforts, strategic planning and strengthening governance structures to enhance stakeholder confidence,” Mr Treseder said.
“She is deeply committed to equity, diversity and workforce empowerment, ensuring that the people and communities of the Mid North Coast receive high-quality, sustainable healthcare.”
Mr Treseder said the Governing Board was confident that under Ms Wong’s leadership MNCLHD would continue to grow as a person-centred organisation that delivers innovative and integrated healthcare solutions and focuses on the wellbeing of its staff, patients, carers and community.
In her new role, Ms Wong will oversee seven hospitals, 13 community health centres, a range of out of hospital services, lead more than 5,000 staff and manage a budget of more than $880 million.
