Wauchope District Memorial Hospital mark Close the Gap Day

Wauchope District Memorial Hospital recognised Close the Gap Day with an all-staff barbecue.

Executive Officer/ Director of Nursing Jennifer Rudd acknowledged the country and reflected on the meaning of the day.

Jenny acknowledged the work being done not only in health but also in education, employment, justice, housing, land, and water. 

The collective aim is to improve cultural safety, access, health, and well-being for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. 

Network Aboriginal Health Manager Waren Ahoy shared a personal account of the impact and importance of closing the gap. 

Warren also acknowledged the good work being done at Wauchope towards closing the gap.

Everyone enjoyed the BBQ.
