The Mid North Coast Local Health District is very proud of its teams at COVID-19 screening clinics across the Mid North Coast who are working hard to keep everyone safe.

And a big thank you to everyone who has come forward for COVID-19 testing.

The District’s clinics have performed almost 130,000 tests since early 2020, including 7,518 tests in the past fortnight.

While the Mid North Coast remains COVID-free , everyone must continue to follow the public health orders and get tested immediately for even the mildest of symptoms.

The lockdown of Greater Sydney, which includes Central Coast, Blue Mountains, Shellharbour and Wollongong, will continue for another four weeks (to 28 August) and existing restrictions remain in place in regional NSW.

NSW recorded 177 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night.

Of these locally acquired cases, 74 are linked to a known case or cluster – 60 are household contacts and 14 are close contacts – and the source of infection for 103 cases is under investigation.

Forty-seven cases were in isolation throughout their infectious period and 22 cases were in isolation for part of their infectious period. Forty-six cases were infectious in the community, and the isolation status of 62 cases remains under investigation.

No new cases were acquired overseas in the 24 hours to 8pm last night. The total number of cases in NSW since the beginning of the pandemic is now 8,105.

Please continue to be COVID-safe. It is more important than ever that we wash our hands (or sanitise) often, wear masks indoors in all settings (except your household), check-in to venues and businesses using the Service NSW QR code, get tested (even with the mildest of symptoms) and if you haven’t already – please get vaccinated for that extra layer of protection.
