Research Roadshow a success in Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie

Sep 28, 2023

The NSW Regional Health Partners’ (NSWRHP) Research Roadshow, held in Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie last week, was a great success, attracting almost 40 healthcare workers.

The purpose of the roadshow was to increase understanding and teach skills about how to create new evidence and use existing evidence to solve health service challenges. Those attending participated in presentations and workshops delivered by experts from across our region, gaining valuable research and translation skills and meeting new potential collaborators.

The speakers shared their expertise in various topics, including research methodologies, grant writing, co-design, working with consumers, developing research protocols, understanding health economics and impact evaluation and more. The sessions were very interactive – allowing attendees to ask questions, get tailored advice, and share their experiences and learnings with each other.

“Our aim with this Research Roadshow was to empower health care staff – those people working on the ground every day – with the tools they need to engage effectively and conduct research that matters to them and their health service,” said Associate Professor Nicolette Hodyl (Director, NSWRHP).

“This event was a great way to harness the collaborative spirit of those working in our regions so we can all work better together to improve health and health care for our communities.”
