There were 59 new cases of COVID-19 reported in the Mid North Coast Local Health District to 8pm yesterday (22 December).

Twenty-four cases are from the Coffs Harbour Local Government Area (LGA), 23 cases are from Port Macquarie-Hastings LGA, seven cases are from the Bellingen LGA, three cases are from the Kempsey LGA and two cases are from Nambucca Valley LGA.

The source of the infection of 40 cases is under investigation, eight cases are linked to a known case or cluster and one case is a household contacts of a confirmed case.

There have been 838 cases reported in the District since the beginning of the current NSW outbreak.
