Hosted community talks on living a full and healthy life to the end
May 16, 2024The Mid North Coast Local Health District is hosting three Community Conversations about palliative care in the next week.
The Community Conversations will feature local palliative care experts who will provide information and resources to help us all think about what’s important to live a full and comfortable life, right to the very end.
These sessions are a safe and friendly space to have the conversation, learn from others, and ask questions about the decisions that matter most to you.
Community Conversations is for all members of the community who are interested in learning more about community supports and services available in relation to ageing, loss, dying and grief.
As the famous saying goes, “knowledge is power” and building your knowledge now on end-of-life matters is proven to have a positive impact on your quality of life when that time comes.
That knowledge can also support you if you are a current carer of a loved one or if you may be a carer in the future.
In these informal sessions led by a facilitator and with a member of the Mid North Coast Local Health District palliative care team in attendance, Healthy North Coast will provide information and resources to help people think about what’s important.
They will answer any questions you have about how to live your life as fully and as comfortably as you can to the very end.
Refreshments will be provided at each session. All attendees will receive some great printed resources and materials.
Topics covered include:
- navigating end-of-life matters
- dying as being a normal part of life
- myth-busting palliative care
- advance care planning
