Heartfelt, a volunteer organisation that gives photographic memories to families who have experienced stillbirth, has generously donated a camera kit to Kempsey District Hospital.

Kempsey District Hospital Social Worker Kate Nethery identified the need for the Maternity Unit and Heartfelt delivered.

The volunteer trans-Tasman group of professional photographers is dedicated to making the grieving process that little bit easier for families by capturing precious moments.

For Kempsey families, the organisation donated a kit consisting of a camera, compact printer and accessories to the Maternity Unit.

Midwifery Unit Manager Leece Lecciones said the donation would provide invaluable memories for the women and families of the Macleay who may need this precious service.

“Our midwives are very grateful for the donation because we know what it means to families grieving the loss of their newborn baby,” Ms Lecciones said.

“These families will have precious photographic memories of their baby forever, all because Healtfelt recognised a need and generously acted on it.”
