DeliverEASE arrives at Coffs Harbour Health Campus
Sep 20, 2024At the start of this month (Monday 2 September), the DeliverEASE team began their work across Coffs Harbour Health Campus’ hospital medical consumables storerooms. The team will work on-site until the end of this year.
DeliverEASE is a principles-based framework that optimises stock control and inventory management. It improves the supply, delivery and storage of medical consumables from the hospital dock to ward storerooms.
Part of NSW Health’s Procurement Reform program to modernise and digitise public health’s procurement and supply chain, DeliverEASE’s foundational and important work will assist in embedding new practices at Coffs Harbour Hospital.
Workshops have been held with some Nurse Unit Managers, Clinical Support Officers and dock staff to review current processes and uncover opportunities that can be addressed.
In the coming weeks, you might see HealthShare NSW’s Procurement and Supply Chain Development and Delivery Team members around the hospital. They will be collaborating with local staff to complete pre-implementation activities ward/department initial meetings, stocktakes and sub-inventory reviews.
DeliverEASE was implemented at Port Macquarie, Wauchope, and Kempsey. After Coffs Harbour, the DeliverEASE team will move to Bellingen, Dorrigo, and Macksville.
In the coming months, more information will be shared about another solution called Traceability, a digital solution for departments to track items to patients and manage specialty inventory items.
