Port Macquarie Physiotherapy Manager Anthony Best presented Amputee Prosthetist, Daiki Mizuo, with a certificate of appreciation.

Dedicated Daiki will be missed on the Mid North Coast

Nov 27, 2023

The Physiotherapy Team at PMBH farewelled ‘Dedicated’ Daiki Mizuo, an amputee prosthetist who has been coming to the Mid North Coast from the Hunter region for the last six years to work at the Port Macquarie Amputee Clinic.

Physiotherapy Manager Anthony Best said Daiki works for the Hunter Prosthetics and Orthotics Service (HPOS), which is part of EnableNSW, a service responsible for providing aids and equipment to people with chronic health conditions or disability to assist them with mobility, communication, and self-care.

HPOS has grown from its Newcastle base, has strong working relationships with John Hunter Hospital and Rankin Park services reaching all surrounding areas throughout the Hunter New England region and comes to Port Macquarie and Dubbo every three weeks.

Port Macquarie’s Amputee Clinic will have a new prosthetist, but Daiki’s legacy will long live on, with many members of our community donning an above or below-knee prosthesis made with love by Daiki.
