Rotary Lodge, which provides affordable accommodation to patients and their families, as well as staff at Port Macquarie Base Hospital, has some special guests thanks to the talent and generosity of a local woman.

The Comfort Companions are skillfully created by a local knitter and donated to the Lodge to be given to children unsettled because a family member is in hospital or receiving treatment at the Mid North Coast Cancer Institute.

The knitted pigs, bears and octopuses have also proved popular with elderly clients who are missing pets while undergoing treatment.

There are some wonderful people in our community, and one of them is certainly bringing smiles to the young and the elderly staying at Rotary Lodge adjacent to Port Macquarie Base Hospital.
