Be alert for COVID-19 symptoms as cases rise

There were 392 new cases of COVID-19 reported in the Mid North Coast Local Health District to 8pm yesterday (4 January 2022).

Two hundred and six cases are from the Port Macquarie-Hastings Local Government Area (LGA), 137 cases are from Coffs Harbour LGA, 18 cases are from Nambucca Valley LGA, 18 cases are from Bellingen LGA and 13 cases are from Kempsey LGA.

Sadly, NSW Health is reporting the death of a man in his 90s at Coffs Harbour Health Campus. He was a resident of the Coffs Harbour Grange Aged Care Facility. He had received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.

There are 24 COVID-19 cases in Mid North Coast hospitals, with four people in intensive care.

There have been 3,193 cases reported in the district since June 2021.

There were 1,466 tests conducted at our Mid North Coast Health clinics yesterday.
