A Coffs Harbour Health Campus manager has won a prestigious NSW award for supporting young doctors.

Alicia Butchers, the Junior Medical Officer (JMO) manager at Coffs Harbour, has been named the Judy Muller Award recipient for 2023.

The award is an annual prize presented by Health Education and Training Institute (HETI) to recognise the work of an individual who has made a substantial contribution to the education and support of prevocational trainees.

HETI Chief Executive, Adjunct Professor Annette Solan said Ms Butchers had been recognised for her passion and dedication to improving the education, training, and welfare of junior doctors at Coffs Harbour Health Campus.

Mid North Coast Local Health District Acting Chief Executive Lydia Dennett congratulated Ms Butchers, describing the award as a “wonderful tribute” to her commitment, passion, and enthusiasm in assisting junior medical staff in their education and training journey while at Coffs Harbour Health Campus, and across the Coffs Clinical Network, which includes Dorrigo, Macksville, and Bellingen hospitals.
