A healthy eye for creativity is key to national photo comp

‘Healthy Life, Healthy You’ is the theme to inspire photographers of all abilities to submit entries in this year’s Your Health Link National Photographic Competition.

Now in its sixth year, the prestigious competition offers great prizes across multiple categories that suit photographers of all ages.

Run by the Mid North Coast Local Health District’s Your Health Link initiative, the competition encourages community members to capture an image that creatively illustrates the theme while demonstrating an understanding of how health and health care apply to their lives.

Your Health Link is an online education gateway to a wide range of information, support and counselling services, legal, finance and housing, mental health, drug and alcohol, sexual health and more.

Your Health Link National Photographic Competition organiser, Tiffany Ball, said prizes include a Nikon Z 50 camera kit, iPhone 14 Pro Max, and GoPro HERO11s. The primary school age category winner earns an Apple iPad 10th Generation.

“Photographers will investigate their subject matter and capture an image to suit the Healthy Life, Healthy You theme,” Mrs Ball said.

“By exploring the subject and capturing a photograph to enter the national competition, entrants will increase their health knowledge.

“Winners of the school-age categories will also earn prizes for their school to support healthy canteen programs.”

The Healthy Kids Association sponsors subcategories in the school-aged competition, and children can base their photograph on a quick and healthy family recipe.

The competition opened on World Photography Day (Saturday, 19 August) and will close on 8 October. Find entry details at

Winners will be announced at an exhibition of the finalists at Sails Resort in Port Macquarie on Thursday, 23 November.
