UHA helps to keep patients moving at Kempsey

Jun 11, 2024

The Kempsey District Hospital Rehabilitation Unit recently received a therapy staircase worth over $5,400, donated by the local United Hospital Auxiliary (UHA). The new equipment will help patients improve their mobility, especially those who have had a stroke, joint replacement, or are recovering from a fracture.

Acting Physiotherapy Head of Department Siobhan Finnegan thanked the UHA for their contribution to the rehabilitation service and for their ongoing support of Kempsey District Hospital.

“Practicing movement is a vital daily task following an illness, injury or change in function. It also enhances patient safety. The new therapy staircase will also increase confidence of patients when accessing their home and community environments,” said Siobhan.

“I’d also like to thank our Physical Resources team, whose expertise was called on to install the new delivery.”
