Bellingen hospital volunteers launch final fundraiser for 2023

Nov 22, 2023

Bellingen Hospital and Pink Auxiliary has presented a $5,006 vital signs monitor to Bellinger River District Hospital.

The latest donation from the hospital volunteers ensures medical and clinical staff have a device that measures a patient’s blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and oxygen saturation instantly and accurately. The Welch Allyn vital signs monitor provides medical staff with the essential information they need to make decisions that will improve the care and wellbeing of patients.

Not prepared to rest on their laurels for a highly successful 2022-23, which saw $75,000 in medical equipment and patient comfort items donated to the hospital, the volunteers have launched one last fundraiser for the year – their annual Christmas raffle.

Prizes include two nights at Caves Coastal Bar and Bungalows valued at $600, an oil painting of the Bellinger River, pamper and festive hampers, and much more.

President Waveney Ayscough said donations to the hospital in support of patients and staff could only happen with the support of the community.

“We will be selling tickets at $2 each or three for $5 in front of the Federal Hotel in Bello on 23 and 30 November, in Urunga on 2 December in front of the mural, in Mary’s Tea House and at the main office at the hospital Mondays to Thursdays, and from hospital volunteers,” Ms Ayscough said.

“People can also email me at waveney46@hotmail.com for tickets.

“There are some wonderful prizes up for grabs and every dollar raised goes to support our local hospital and its patients.”

The raffle will be drawn on Friday 8 December.
