Igniting the next generation of leaders

Mid North Coast Local Health District (MNCLHD) embraced the opportunity to engage with young people at the 2023 Luminosity Youth Summit.

Held at the Glasshouse in Port Macquarie, the event aims to inspire and uplift the next generation of leaders, creators and innovators through personal development and leadership experiences. The summit has ignited the spark in young minds for ten years, and MNCLHD has been a presenting partner throughout the journey.

Chief Executive, Stewart Dowrick, gave the opening address alongside high-profile speakers, including global leadership trailblazer Holly Ransom, miracle survivor Sophie Delezio, Paralympian Ellie Cole, Deadly Science founder Corey Tutt, Sid the Entertainer, comedian Tanya Hennessy, Self Seen founder Ben Cudmore, Lemonade Crew co-founder, Motor Neurone Disease advocate Bianca Adkins and more.

This year’s theme, Courage and Curiosity, encouraged the audience to think creatively, embrace challenge and change, and allow their natural curiosity to open doors and develop the courage to step through.

Inspiring leaders, including international and local stars, shared their stories from the stage and held masterclasses to give our next generation the skills that may generate action in their future career paths.

For MNCLHD, the Luminosity Youth Summit 2023 was a chance to meet with the next generation of doctors, nurses, paramedics, corporate staff, leaders, tradespeople, IT innovators and more because a career in health encompasses many skills and experiences.
