The interprofessional Simulation Centre (iSimCentre) is uniquely located within the Coffs Harbour Health Campus. The iSimCentre is an Interprofessional centre of excellence using clinical simulation to enhance the skills of health care professionals through education, research, evaluation and innovation, thereby improving patient safety and the quality of care.

A key aim of the centre is to integrate professional entry students, nursing, medicine, midwifery and allied health with experienced employees to allow for the clinical and human factor exposure to support the learning of all parties. The centre promotes teamwork, with clinicians from various disciplines working together in providing clinical care.

It has a multi-purpose configurable clinical environment that can be transitioned into any clinical environment e.g. ward, resus, operating theatre etc. This environment is supported by a direct visual control room and has the potential for up to three concurrent simulations.

The iSimCentre provides full audio and video recording and supported debriefing by the highly trained simulation team. The centre has a full family of simulators from SimMom, SimNewB, SimBaby, SimJunior, and SimMan3G. In addition the iSimCentre has a mobile service which can provide high fidelity simulation insitu throughout the district.

Simulation on the Mid North Coast is a highly respected form of clinical education and the iSimCentre prides itself on its ability to provide high quality simulation to interprofessional teams. JMOs can access simulation opportunities either in the form of custom courses facilitated by highly qualified professional faculty, VMO/Staff Specialist led tutorials or by attending one of our many interprofessional simulation in-services.

The iSimCentre – MNC is located within the Education Centre of the Coffs Harbour Health Campus. Enter through the main entry, turn left down the main corridor and Education Reception is the first vestibule on the left
