CARE Collaborative

Who we are – The C.A.R.E collaborative ( Compassion Awareness Respect Empathy) is a group of staff  brought together by Carmen Morgan , the DON  CHHC , who are working together to create  a more connected compassionate and happy workplace. Currently we focus our activities across the Coffs Clinical Network.

What we do –  We create ideas for activities and events that we then share with staff  with the hope it will make a difference to their day. We have done some things such as , Christmas raffles, free coffee days,

Current Activities.

Kapture Kindness – this activity has been a big hit. At random times throughout the year we send a call out to ask you to nominate a work colleague who you have caught in the act of being kind. This can be anything  big or small. We then recognise and thank that staff  member for all that they do and give them a certificate to mark the occasion and sometimes a little gift. We may also place an article and photo in The Pulse.

Pop up trivia quiz – again an activity that  happens every few months that offers staff a few minutes out of their busy day to think about something different, and test their knowledge!

Meditation  – we offer a regular meditation session each Wednesday  at  1230 -1300 in education at Coffs Harbour Hospital.

TED Talk this 17 min talk by Prof Richard Davison is really worth watching, he speaks about the power of mindfulness and positive emotions.
