The Mid North Coast Local Health District is home to about 500 volunteers who give, on average, more than 75,000 volunteer hours each year in support of our patients and staff.

On International Volunteer Day today, we want our volunteers to know that every hospital, every community health centre and every staff member is grateful for their support and service.

Our volunteer family includes Heart Health NSW, Coffs Harbour Health Campus Palliative Care Volunteers, Port Macquarie-Wauchope Palliative Care Volunteers, Mid North Coast Cancer Institute Volunteers, Coffs Harbour  General Volunteers,  Bellingen Hospital and Pink Auxiliary, BowraMacksville Hospital Auxiliary, Camden Haven Auxiliary, Coffs Harbour Pink Auxiliary, Dorrigo Hospital and Pink Auxiliary, Kempsey United Hospital Auxiliary and Pink Ladies, Nambucca Auxiliary, Port Macquarie  Pink Ladies and Wauchope Hospital Volunteers, Nambucca Valley Cancer Support Group, CHHC Mental Health Unit volunteers, Pastoral Care, Red Cross Coffs Harbour and Bright Bessy Dog Training Community Support Dogs Program.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. You are an essential part of our team.

As one person, we cannot change the world, but we can change a person’s world.

Our volunteers do exactly that for our patients and staff every day, which is a pretty good reason to celebrate 5 December 2022.

International Volunteer Day is a global observance, mandated by the UN General Assembly, to offer an opportunity to promote volunteerism, encourage support for volunteer efforts and to recognise volunteer contributions.
