Mother’s Day looking extra special for lucky trio

May 03, 2023

The Port Macquarie Base Hospital Pink Ladies Mother’s Day Raffle has been an outstanding success with every ticket sold.

PMBH Director of Nursing Penelope Pink was called on to draw three tickets; digging deep to ironically give two Pink Ladies volunteers a Mother’s Day to remember.

Pink Ladies member Karen Swain earned first prize, which included a beautiful queen-size patchwork quilt from the Laurieton Friendship Quilters and a $250 Zebu Bar and Grill voucher.

Another hard-working volunteer, retired nurse Wendy Tawyer, won the second-prize hamper, which featured a $170 spa voucher, while Helen Thoms won third prize.

President Gabby Gregory thanked everyone who supported the raffle, including the businesses who donated wonderful prizes.

Funds raised will be used to buy hospital equipment and patient comfort items.
