After two years of suspended Annual General Meetings, the Camden Haven branch of the United Hospital Auxiliaries of NSW finally held its yearly meeting to wind up one financial year and welcome the start of a new one.

Jen Lucey was returned as President for a third term, along with Jo Thorpe as Treasurer and Bron Guymer as Secretary.

COVID-19 and wet weather impacted much of the volunteers’ activities during the past 24 months, however, Ms Lucey was optimistic about the branch’s future.

“Unfortunately, many volunteer groups have closed as a result of the challenges of the past two years and yet, here we are… reunited and still enjoying each other’s company,” Ms Lucey said.

“We can all look forward to the future knowing we have met the challenges of the past, including holding a highly successful, massive garage sale that COVID and persistent wet weather tried to scuttle.”

The North Eastern Regional Representative for the United Hospital Auxiliaries of NSW, Dee Hunter, was also present at the AGM, along with Mid North Coast Local Health District Corporate Relations Manager Sharon Fuller, who thanked the volunteers for their patience and perseverance over the past two years.

Other executive positions filled at the AGM include Val Lake as Assistant Treasurer and Steph Wright as Vice-president.
