“Losing It In The Bush” (LIITB) empowers small and isolated rural communities of less than 5,000 people to take action to improve their own health in partnership with their community.
LIITB is a locally developed program empowering rural people living in the Port Macquarie and Kempsey regions to promote healthy lifestyle changes and reduce risk of complications from chronic disease. A partnership between rural communities, Port Macquarie Community Health (PMCH), Port Macquarie Hastings Council, Kempsey Shire Counciland At My Pace Specialist Rehabilitation.
The program operates out of rural halls or other venues. To book a place, call 6588 2882.
Sessions are two hours per week, including an exercise component and a presentation on healthy lifestyle by many health professionals incluiding dieticians, women’s health nurses, mental health nurses and occupational therapists.
