Shearwater Lodge
Situated adjacent to the Coffs Harbour Base Hospital, the Lodge provides accommodation for cancer, medical and trauma patients and their companions/carers.
Shearwater Lodge is a community project of the Rotary Club of Coffs Harbour and Lions Clubs International.
The construction was made possible by the generous support of Rotary International, Lions International, Commonwealth Government, Cancer Council NSW, corporate donors, community service groups, registered clubs, Shire and City Councils and individuals within Coffs Harbour and the wider district communities of Mid North Coast and New England.
An affordable air conditioned motel style accommodation. Each room has its own ensuite and contains two single beds, WIFI , television, wardrobe, microwave oven, electric kettle and toaster.
There are two common rooms, which include kitchen, dining and lounge areas where residents can mingle and prepare meals.
Other facilities include:
- a BBQ area is available for guests to enjoy
- a wheelchair accessible unit is available
- the rooms are serviced on a weekly basis
- a coin operated laundry is available for the use of residents.
Unfortunately, pets are not permitted.
Morning teas are provided by local groups each Tuesday and Thursday.
Volunteers from the community provide meals for guests on Wednesday nights and the 4th Thursday night of each month.

The office will be manned between 8.30 am – 4.30 pm weekdays.

Designated parking is available for the exclusive use of patients while residing at Shearwater Lodge.
Smoking is strictly forbidden in all areas of the Lodge including the grounds.
Local bus companies operate daily. A public bus stop is located at the entrance of the Coffs Harbour Base Hospital.
