Renal Services provides comprehensive kidney care. Our service includes the diagnosis, investigation, treatment and long term management of kidney problems in adults and we work together as a specialist team to provide all aspects of care tailored to the needs of each individual patient.

Twice yearly transplant clinic with doctors and nurses from RPA Sydney. The Director of the unit is Dr Abdul-Razak.

The Kempsey Dialysis Unit is located at the Kempsey District Hospital. The service provides limited care for patients who remain well and stable during treatment. Unwell patients will be treated at PMBH.

Nambucca Valley Dialysis Unit is a nurse led satellite unit which offers haemodialysis to medically stable patients who require a limited level of care.

As a part of an acute care hospital the PMBH Renal Unit has specialist physician cover and provides dialysis to patients in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Coronary Care Unit (CCU).
The renal unit provides support for patients in the Hastings Macleay Region including the Kempsey Dialysis Unit.

The dialysis unit operates 7.00am to 9.30pm Monday to Saturday.
Renal Nursing Outreach Service for patients who dialyse at home. Currently home training is not being offered in the MNCLHD. Patients will need to attend training at either Ballina for haemodialysis or John Hunter Hospital for peritoneal dialysis.
Renal Supportive Care – provides support for patients undergoing medical management.
Renal Social Worker and Dietician – provides practical and social support for patients on dialysis or Renal Supportive Care.
Renal Case management – provides chronic kidney disease education and support.
8.00am -4.30pm Monday to Friday.
