Air Quality

The main air quality issues of concern to public health on the North Coast are those related to bush fires, residential wood-burning heaters, air pollution from industrial sources and agricultural activities.

Most of these issues are dealt with by local Councils but with matters of regional signifigance the Environment Protection Authority (EPA), part of the Department of Environment, Climate Change & Water and the North Coast Public Health Unit (NCPHU) may become involved.

For further information on air quality please see the NSW Ministry of Health web page.

Additional information about air quality can also be found at the EPA site.
