Community Mental Health Services

The ‘front’ door to Community Mental Health Services for people of all ages is via the Mental Health Access Line 1800 011 511, while not a counselling service the mental health professionals who answer calls will advise whether or not a person is in need of mental health services or would be better accessing another service.

MNCLHD provides Community Mental Health Services in Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie and Kempsey, and from several smaller sites within these regions. Direct referrals are received from GPs, private psychologists, private psychiatrists, school & TAFE counsellors and Government and Non-Government partners.

Multidisciplinary teams can include: psychologist; clinical psychologist; staff specialist and Career Medical Officer Teams include: Extended Care Services (ECS); Youth and Family (YAF); Adult and Older persons and Acute Care Servcies (ACS).

Clinical treatment in community settings are by teams that provide mobile acute responses and assessment and longer term treatment and clinical care for those who need in collaboration with General Practitioners and Non-Government Organisations and Aboriginal Medical Services.
