Get Healthy at Work

When it comes to your business, workers are your most valuable asset. That’s why caring for their health is important.

Get Healthy at Work is a NSW Government initiative that aims to improve the health of working adults. The program is tailored to the workplace and focusses on any of the following priority areas:

  • Healthy eating
  • Healthy weight                                     
  • Physical activity                                        
  • Active travel (i.e. walking, cycling, public transport to work)
  • Smoking
  • Harmful alcohol consumption  

 The program can be accessed online, or alternatively you can receive support from a local service provider to assist your business with the program. All of the tools, templates and resources needed to develop a simple action plan to address a priority health issue within the workplace are provided.     

All workers will also have access to free and confidential Brief Health Checks – these can be completed either online or face to face by a Health Professional at your workplace. These take approximately 15 minutes to complete and provide immediate feedback about an individual’s health and risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes and Heart Disease. It also provides advice on how to make changes for better health, with referrals to lifestyle coaching programs and other health services.
