Joint Investigative Response Team (JIRT)

The Joint Investigation Response Teams (JIRTs) are a team of workers from NSW Police, Family and Community Services- Community Services (CS), and NSW Health who respond collaboratively to reports of serious child abuse. Within Health, the JIRT Senior Health Clinicians’ role is responsible for managing the Health components of the JIRT response in partnership with the JIRT interagency partners.

There is a JIRT Senior Health Clinician based at Coffs Harbour, Kempsey and Port Macquarie. Referrals to JIRT can only be made through the Child Protection Helpline. If you have concerns in regard to a child at risk of significant harm please contact the Helpline on 132 111.
