Wauchope District Memorial Hospital has hosted a special morning tea on the eve of National Volunteer Week to thank the men and women who support the hospital, its patients and staff through volunteering.
The Wauchope Hospital Volunteers were the guests of honour at the special function where Nurse Manager Yvonne Carmichael paid tribute to the volunteers’ compassion, hard work and commitment.
“National Volunteer Week is upon us; a timely reminder to organisations everywhere to stop, think and be thankful for the gift volunteers willingly give each week,” Ms Carmichael said.
“I’d like to say that we at Wauchope District Memorial Hospital do not need reminding.
“Every day we see your good deeds, and hear your kind words and we know we are lucky to have you on our team,” Ms Carmichael said.
“Every time we use a piece of equipment you have painstakingly fundraised for, we know we are lucky to have you on our team.
“We don’t need a National Volunteer Week to remind us how important you are, but we do hope today you are reminded that we need you, that we appreciate the things you do for us and our patients and that you are part of a team that does a wonderful job caring for our community.
“We value your time and your hard work and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making a difference in our wonderful hospital,” Ms Carmichael said.
