Donation for Kempsey hospital’s young patients is a great read
Aug 28, 2024Kempsey District Hospital was delighted to welcome two wonderful ladies, Christie Rayward and Kylee Harris from Goodstart Early Learning, this week who kindly presented a collection of children’s books for the waiting rooms in IPU, ED, and Maternity units.
The donation, consisting of 23 children’s books, was made possible by the generous families of the children attending Goodstart Early Learning. As part of their annual Book Fair and community fundraising event last week, the families came together to support a cause close to their hearts.
Each year, the centre hosts a fundraising drive to donate proceeds—often in the form of books—to a local community organisation. This year’s initiative was inspired by a parent who noticed a lack of entertainment for children during lengthy hospital visits.
Their thoughtful suggestion led to this wonderful donation, which will undoubtedly make a difference for young patients and their families.
