Childbirth and parenting classes

Classes generally start from around 28 to 30 weeks gestation. There are a variety of classes available across the different birthing sites, as well as some available through community organisations. While the information provided in the class is the same at each maternity service, they may have different options available.

Information about the different classes held in the MNCLHD are provided below. As the days and times may change you’re advised to ring the contact number for more information and to book in.

If you’re uncertain about which class is right for you, it’s a good idea to discuss with your midwife or doctor during your antenatal visits.

Classes are run on a Monday and Wednesday evening between 6pm and 8pm. The program runs over five weeks and is held at the Coffs Harbour Health Campus in the Education block room ED016.

There is also a Tuesday class that’s run between 10am and 2pm over two weeks. This is also held at the Coffs Harbour Health Campus in the Education block room ED016.

There is a small fee to attend these classes. The cost is $50 which can be paid at the cashier in the main foyer of the hospital or over the phone by calling  02 6656 7191.

Classes are run on a Tuesday and Wednesday evening between 6pm and 8pm. The program runs over six weeks and is currently run via telehealth.
