Hastings Co-op IGA is a valued, long-time supporter of Wauchope Hospital Volunteers and, this week, the 106-year-old business was again extending a helping hand to the Wauchope branch of the United Hospital Auxiliaries of NSW.

The Co-op’s Tim Walker presented the group with 120 packets of cleaning wipes – a donation valued at $480.

The Volunteers will “clean up” this Friday, when they sell the wipes at their monthly stall at bargain basement prices well below the recommended retail price. All funds raised from the sale will go towards the purchase of medical equipment for Wauchope District Memorial Hospital.

The Volunteers’ stall will be in the Wauchope IGA carpark from 8am to 2pm on Friday, and feature other popular goodies such as hand-knitted and crocheted items, plants, chutneys, bric-a-brac and much, much more.

The stalls are held on the first Friday of each month and enable the volunteers to donate about $20,000 worth of equipment to Wauchope District Memorial Hospital every year.

If you would like to find out more about joining the volunteers, call President Win Secombe on 6585 1268, or pop along to the group’s annual general meeting at 10am on Monday 1 August in the meeting room behind Wauchope Community Health Centre, adjacent to the hospital.
