Wauchope celebrates National Radiographers Week
Nov 13, 2024Last week, Wauchope District Memorial Hospital proudly celebrated National Radiographers and Radiation Therapists Week, a time to recognise the invaluable contributions of the site’s dedicated radiology team.
The team, comprising Linda Waldron, Margot Steffen, and Clare Warner, carefully planned an engaging celebration to raise awareness about the vital role of radiography in healthcare and to share the fascinating history and evolution of X-ray technology with our community.
Visitors to the hospital could access an informative display in the entrance foyer, featuring intriguing facts about the origins and development of X-ray technology. This display shed light on the many advancements in radiography, highlighting the progress that has shaped modern medical imaging.
In addition, the team set up a corridor display showcasing some unique images from the field of radiography, alongside some light-hearted and humorous visuals that capture the fun side of this technical profession.
Adding to the festive spirit, the radiology team prepared an array of themed baked goods, each resembling a little work of radiographic art. These treats were as delightful to look at as they were to eat, symbolising the creativity and dedication of WDMH radiographers.
National Radiographers and Radiation Therapists Week is a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge the skilled professionals who provide essential imaging services every day.
“Thanks to Linda, Margot, and Clare, patients at Wauchope District Memorial Hospital receive high-quality diagnostic care, enhancing our ability to deliver timely and accurate treatment,” said Nurse Manager Kate Williams.
“We thank our radiology team for their hard work, their commitment to patient care, and for celebrating this special week in such a meaningful way.”
