Tokens of appreciation for our nurses

Jul 06, 2023

The Integrated Care, Allied Health and Community Services (ICAHCS) Team celebrated and thanked their nurses, and their colleagues on International Nurses Day 2023 by sharing fruit boxes across the local health district.

Our nurses provide many services to the community. Sometimes in a patient’s greatest hour of need such as our Palliative Care Nurses who support patients, families and carers through, what can be, an extremely challenging journey.

The valuable contribution they make is no doubt a great comfort to all involved and they perform their work with grace and dedication.

Acting Director, ICAHCS, Kate Meredith said the 2023 theme for International Nurses Day “A Voice to Lead:  Our Nurses. Our Future” resonates within the Directorate with nurses playing a valuable and important role of supporting the health and wellbeing of residents in our communities.

“I cannot thank our wonderful nurses enough and it is a privilege to work alongside such compassionate and professional people,” she said.

“Celebrating the day with small tokens of our appreciation was the least we could do.”
