Timeless Quilters wrap holiday joy around local newborns

Nov 25, 2024

The talented and generous ladies of the Timeless Quilters are once again spreading holiday cheer to the tiniest members of our community.

For years, the group has lovingly handcrafted beautiful Christmas quilts, gifting them to babies born in the Maternity Unit at Port Macquarie Base Hospital (PMBH) over the holiday season.

Mid North Coast Local Health District’s Sharon Fuller said this year’s collection was no exception.

“Each quilt is a delightful masterpiece that will wrap newborns in warmth and love,” Ms Fuller said.

“These quilts are absolutely beautiful and will no doubt become cherished family heirlooms. The generosity of these ladies in providing something so special to new parents—people they may never meet and may never receive a thank you from in person—is truly amazing.”

The quilts are a heartfelt gesture that brings comfort and joy to families at such a special time of year.

“Their tradition of giving embodies the true spirit of the season—kindness, community, and connection,” Ms Fuller said.

In addition to their Christmas tradition, the Timeless Quilters have also created Love Quilts for angel babies, a deeply touching gift treasured by families long after saying goodbye to their little ones.

Acting CME Kamara Walkling and Registered Nurse/Registered Midwife Trish Rogers were delighted to accept the Timeless Quilters’ bundle of beautiful quilts.
