‘The day I felt like giving up my job’, Schwartz Rounds

Oct 09, 2024

On 2 October, Kempsey District Hospital hosted a powerful Schwartz Round, exploring the theme ‘The day I felt like giving up my job.’

The panel featured Emily Helm (Enrolled Nurse), Meagan Hardie (Clinical Nurse Educator), Deliah Harris (Clinical Nurse Educator), and Daniel Murace (Chief Radiographer), who bravely shared personal stories about the challenges that almost led them to leave their careers—and how the support of strong leaders and teams kept them going.

Schwartz Rounds is a unique forum where healthcare workers, both clinical and non-clinical, come together to discuss the emotional impact of working in healthcare. It’s a chance to take a break, reflect, and connect in a compassionate space. These sessions aren’t about solving problems but about sharing experiences and supporting one another.

Interested in sharing your story?

You can apply to be a panellist—everyone, including clinical, non-clinical and corporate staff, is welcome.

Check out future Schwartz Round dates and themes on the MNCLHD intranet, or email MNCLHD-staffHealth@health.nsw.gov.au for more information.

Let’s keep the conversation going and support each other through the ups and downs of healthcare!
