Testing and vaccination urged as region records 37 new COVID-19 cases

There were 37 COVID-19 cases in the Mid North Coast Local Health District (MNCLHD) reported to 8pm yesterday (5 November).
Twenty-seven of the cases are from the Port Macquarie-Hastings Local Government Area (LGA), six are from Kempsey LGA and there are two cases each in the Nambucca Valley and Coffs Harbour LGAs.
Sixteen cases are household contacts of confirmed COVID-19 cases, a further 16 are linked to a known case or cluster and the source of the infection of five cases is under investigation.
There have been 369 cases reported in the MNCLHD since the beginning of the current NSW outbreak.
COVID-19 testing rates remain high across the Mid North Coast with 861 tests conducted yesterday including 431 at Port Macquarie, 182 at Coffs Harbour and 127 at Kempsey. We encourage anyone with even the mildest of cold-like symptoms to come forward for testing and isolate until a negative result is received.

NSW Health state-run clinics are now offering a booster dose, using the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, to individuals aged 18 and over.
This booster shot will help people maintain a high level of protection against the COVID-19 virus, including the Delta variant. People aged 18 years and older may receive a booster at least six months after receiving their second dose of any of the COVID-19 vaccines registered for use in Australia.
