Simulation training enhances patient safety and experience
Nov 16, 2023The Mid North Coast Local Health District Clinical Education & Simulation team collaborated with Kempsey District Hospital recently to provide its annual interdepartmental simulation training session.
The interdepartmental simulation complements the regular simulation education and training at Kempsey Emergency Department.
The multidisciplinary critical care simulation took place in the Kempsey Emergency Department with Emergency Medical Officers and Nurses, Operating Theatre Nurses and Anaesthetist, Pathology and Radiology staff, Health and Security Assistants, Nurse Managers as well as NSW Ambulance staff.
The simulation enabled collaborative learning, team building and systems checking within the multidisciplinary teams supporting the hospital’s holistic, timely, high-quality patient care.
These simulation training sessions focus on celebrating excellence in care delivery and a commitment to ongoing professional development to enhance patient safety and experience.
