A not-for-profit charity is offering Port Macquarie Base Hospital and Mid North Coast Cancer Institute staff, patients and visitors access to motel-type accommodation within walking distance of the health campus.

Rotary Lodge, which is immediately adjacent to the hospital, meets a range of accommodation needs. Its self-contained rooms have king, queen or single beds, full bathrooms, smart TVs, kitchenettes and Wi-Fi. Free parking and laundry facilities are also available.

Common rooms, which feature a full kitchen with stove, dishwasher, toasters and communal fridges, and an outdoor barbecue area are also located at the Lodge creating even further options for visitors.

The Lodge’s 36 rooms represent affordable accommodation for visiting Health staff working at the base hospital, while also offering the convenience of being just a short stroll from work and a nearby shopping centre.

Manager Paula Johnson said every effort was made to ensure visitors were well catered for, adding that the rooms were modern, extremely clean and affordable.

“We take our commitment to our guests very seriously,” Paula said.

“We want to ensure that everyone who stays with us, regardless of their circumstances, is happy with their accommodation and with the customer service provided by our staff.

“Some of our guests are with us because of health issues; others stay with us because they have a loved one who is a patient at the hospital, so a caring environment is something we also proudly provide. It’s our core business and our core ethos.

“We also want to remind Health workers visiting the Mid North Coast that the Lodge is available to them. We have a lot of visiting medical specialists and Health professionals stay with us because the Lodge is so convenient. If they finish a late shift, it’s a two-minute walk to their comfy, modern and private unit.”
