Renal patient Steve Lee has completed a remarkable challenge, walking from Willawarrin to Kempsey with the aim of raising vital funds in support of Kempsey District Hospital.

Affectionately known in the Macleay as The Big Camel, Mr Lee completed the challenging 30km walk on Saturday 18 February, with well-wishers welcoming him to his destination, Riverside Park.

A garage sale the previous Saturday also contributed to Mr Lee’s remarkable fundraising total of $5000, which he presented to Kempsey District Hospital Acting Executive Officer Katie Croad.

Mr Lee’s efforts were supported by Pastor Paul Jones and the Life Outreach Ministries Kempsey, Futures Fine Furniture and Bedding Kempsey, Just Bedding Port Macquarie and Gifts of Hope Kempsey.
