Health staff focus on infection prevention and control
Nov 02, 2023Staff across the Mid North Coast Local Health District took part in various activities recently as part of a global awareness campaign on infection prevention and control.
Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Week in late October aims to promote better infection prevention and control practices in health care and to recognise the efforts of all healthcare workers to reduce the risk of infection in health services.
Mid North Coast Health staff participated in a range of activities, from educational displays and quizzes to practical sessions. The goal, to have fun while improving awareness, resulted in a record number of staff taking part.
Participants included students, nursing, midwifery, medical, allied, cleaning, security and administration staff.
Coffs Harbour Health Campus staff who participated in an activity during IPaC Week not only received a small prize, but also went into the major prize draw.
A Versa 3 FitBit, donated by the health campus’ Collaborative Care Committee, was the major prize. There was a total of 302 entries into the draw and this year’s winner was Marianne France from Environmental Cleaning Services.
