Good humour, great colleagues and lickety-split bedmaking.

Gratitude aplenty for our nurses and midwives

May 13, 2024

Port Macquarie Base Hospital celebrated nurses and midwives last week.

Around the hospital, displays of appreciation adorned the walls outside the wards. Keywords from these messages of thanks were: passion and compassion, hard work, mentor, teacher, give 100 per cent for our patients, respect, their smile makes us happy, thankful, and kindness.

A week of recognition culminated with prizes, a bed-making competition (video below), and an awards presentation on Friday.

Staff nominated colleagues for awards to recognise their work which often goes above and beyond.

Prizes were awarded to the Nurses of 2024:

Ward 2A Maternity Services Lyndal Nankervis
