There was one new case of COVID-19 reported in the Mid North Coast Local Health District to 8pm yesterday (3 December).

The case is from the Kempsey Local Government Area and is a household contact of a confirmed case.

There have been 530 cases reported in the District since the beginning of the current NSW outbreak.

We continue to urge anyone with the mildest of symptoms to get tested for COVID-19 following the detection of fragments of the virus in sewage samples taken from the Woolgoolga Sewage Treatment Plant on 1 December.

Testing sewage can help provide early warning of undetected infections in an area. In this instance, where there are no known cases of COVID-19, this is of particular concern.

Please get vaccinated to protect yourself and others against COVID-19 and keep coming forward for testing if you experience any symptoms.
