Dental care and education goes mobile in Wauchope

Aug 12, 2024

Domestic Violence Prevention Education Program team and Hastings Valley Aboriginal Women’s Group collaborated with our Oral Health Mobile Dental Service to provide free dental care in Wauchope for First Nations women and children.

This initiative addresses the dental health disparities for Indigenous communities by offering check-ups, treatments, and preventative care.

The mobile dental service ensures that high-quality oral health care is accessible to those who might otherwise face barriers to receiving such services.

In addition to direct care, the program also focuses on raising awareness about the importance of oral hygiene and preventive measures to maintain long-term dental health.

The team hopes to provide this service again within the health district.
