Coffs Harbour Daybreak Rotary supports mental health
May 27, 2021Rotary Club of Coffs Harbour Daybreak held its annual Trivia Night at Coffs Harbour Golf Club recently.
The club is strongly supportive of the local community, especially the local public hospital, and has donated proceedings from the evening to the Coffs Harbour Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit.
Nurse Unit Manager Paul Glover and Registered Nurse Llyris Wood accepted the donation of four boxes of Diamond Art to be used and enjoyed by patients in treatment and recovery.
Paul and Llyris use the art in assisting patients to develop the concentration required to manage the fine detail in the art, helping to distract them from troubling symptoms, building a sense of achievement on completion, then owning and framing them for home.
“Our club is committed to supporting the Mental Health Unit at Coffs Harbour Hospital into the future,” said Club President Mark Spencer.
