Coffs Harbour Nurse Allison Lowden is a fundraising champion thanks to her extreme haircuts every five years.

This year, Ms Lowden’s goal was to raise $1,000. She exceeded that amount, raising $1,115 when she sat in the barber’s chair on Monday, 23 October. The tally is now more than $1,300.

“After my last head shave, we lost one of our colleagues to breast cancer. Others in the midwifery team, including myself, have had a personal experience with the disease. So, I am very passionate about the cause,” Ms Lowden said.

“This year, I chose the Breast Cancer Network Australia as I found they had so much information for women going through breast cancer treatment and journey.”

Those wanting to add to the tally can donate here.

Ms Lowden’s locks will be donated to the cancer cause to be made into wigs.
